Wind Safety

Wind ratings outline the maximum wind strength for our umbrella frames with bolted bases. However, wind can also be variable in direction & strength of gusts. So umbrellas must always be closed in high winds, unless secured by an in-ground socket.

ENGINEERED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN CLIMATE

All our outdoor umbrellas are engineered and built to the highest standards.

Core to the strength of the frame is the custom designed Patented Interlock & Extruded Cogs Frame System. With aluminium interlocking arms, aluminium extruded cogs & aluminium brackets.

The canopies are tightly secured through bolt on covers, with nuts & bolts made of stainless steel.

The Patented Designs are Australian Design Registered & have been Engineer Certified by Don Moore & Assoc. Australian Design and Reg No.149 776.

WIND TESTING

The umbrella design is wind tested by the Monash University Mechanical & Aerospace Wind Tunnel Facility with bolted bases.

Standard umbrellas: 120 km/hr

Hurricane level umbrellas: 160 km/hr

Please note: we are formal awaiting test results for the Square Poles (no twist) and Marine Grade Stainless Steel Poles.
